Apportioned funds enable United Methodists to do together what no church, district, or annual conference could do alone. All of this—and so much more—is possible because when we join The United Methodist Church, we promise faithfully to participate in its ministries through our prayers, presence, gifts and service. Paying our apportionments 100 percent, we become a part of something big and accomplish wonderful things in Jesus’ name!
Where does your gift go?
When I put money into the offering plate, where does my gift go?
We hope this graphic will illustrate the answers:
If you put a one-dollar bill into the offering plate, the money is divided into three categories.
84.6 cents stays in your local church. This money assists local ministries, church maintenance, pastoral support and other local opportunities.
12.7 cents funds the work of the annual conference, the district, the episcopal area and the jurisdiction.
Only 2.7 cents supports the work of the general boards and agencies.
